About

The Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame (IMVHOF), a 501(c)3 organization, was founded in 2013. The IMVHOF’s stated objective is “to publicly emphasize the honor brought to our state and nation by the sacrifice of Indiana military veterans and their families.” On April 25, 2013, the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indiana Senate recognized the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame organization. Indiana follows only a handful of other states who have established similar organizations.

Jeanne Lugo - Chairman

Jeanne serves as the Chairman and has been with the IMVHOF since its inception in 2013. She previously served as the Secretary of the board.  Jeanne is a United States Army veteran, having served nearly 30 years in uniform retiring as a Colonel.  She is active in multiple service organizations in the Indianapolis area.

Larry Marcum - Vice-Chairman

Larry joined the Board of Directors in 2024 and serves as Vice Chairman.  Larry is a United States Army veteran having served twelve years in the Infantry Branch with rapid deployment units.  Larry has served in various volunteer roles with local and national veteran’s groups.  Larry is a financial manager with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service supporting our nation’s warfighters.  

Kevin Ryan

Kevin served three years as the Chairman and is one of the co-founders of the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame. All else remains the same. Kevin has been with the IMVHOF since its inception in 2013.  Although not a veteran Kevin is a true patriot and strong supporter of the U.S. military.  Kevin is the past President and Chief Executive Officer of Financial Center First Credit Union.

Nelson

Mike Nelson – Treasurer

Mike serves as the Treasurer and has been with the IMVHOF since its inception in 2013.  Although not a veteran Mike is a true patriot and strong supporter of the U.S. military. Mike is the Past Chief Financial Officer at Financial Center First Credit Union.

James Leonard

James has served on the Board of Directors since 2016.  James is a United States Army veteran having served 28 years in uniform retiring as a Colonel in the Finance Corps.  He also earned a Masters Degree from Boston University and an MBA with Honors from Butler University.

Hugh R. Dagley II

Hugh has served on the Board of Directors since 2016.  Hugh is a United States Army veteran having served eight years in uniform as a Tactical Intelligence Officer.  Hugh is the past Adjutant of the Indiana Department of the American Legion and served 18 years as a member of the American Legion’s National Headquarters.

John Bartlett

John has served on the Board of Directors since its inception in 2013. Although not a veteran John is a true patriot and strong supporter of the U.S. military.  John is the State Representative for District 95 at the Indiana State House.  Through John’s efforts he was able to gain recognition of the IMVHOF from the Indiana State legislature.

John McKenzie

John began serving on the Board of Directors in 2022.  Although not a veteran John is a true patriot and strong supporter of the U.S. military.  John is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana Credit Union League.  Through John’s leadership the IMVHOF was able to construct a memorial building through the efforts of private individuals and Indiana credit unions.

El Ahlwardt

A retired Navy Commander, El was a Special Duty/Public Affairs Officer for 17 years after beginning his career as a Surface Warfare Officer. Currently El is a fundraiser for a worldwide Christian ministry and the Chair of the (City of) Fishers Armed Services Commission.

Jim Jordan

Jim Jordan served in the Coast Guard in port security, search and rescue, aids to navigation and ice breaking missions.  After service in the Coast Guard, Jim served in management positions in the wireless communications industry.  Currently Jim is Broker/Owner of Realty World Indy and past president of Fishers Rotary Club and the Indianapolis Sailing Club.
